Let “Row Your Boat” Guide the Way

Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream.  Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream.

The first verse of that song by Eliphalet Oram Lyte tells us exactly how to live in tune with nature’s rhythms.

ROW, or engage with life, with your mind, body, and spirit.

YOUR boat, not someone else’s.  No matter how much you just want to help or how much fancier their boat is than yours.

Your BOAT is the vessel that digests the three aharas, or diets of life, food, impressions, and associations.

GENTLY!  Like nature, don’t force or resist.

Go DOWN the stream.  Definitely not up the stream or even across the stream.  Go with the flow, of water and of life.

Rabindranath Tagore, the Nobel Poet Laureate, said, “The same STREAM of life that runs through my veins night and day, runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures.”

MERRILY, merrily, merrily, merrily, that’s how to do and how to be.  Not struggling and not serious or uptight.  Relax and smile 🙂

LIFE is but a DREAM.  This physical world of sensory impressions is not the ultimate reality.
